  • Stepping into the World Race was a huge step of faith in my journey with christ. I always knew I wanted to be a missionary but I didn’t know what and where that looked like. There was a part of me that wanted to be an overseas missionary but God kept calling me into short term missions. I had a beautiful opportunity to lead in my city Chicago and New York. As I kept leading I kept telling God i wanted more. On those trips God showed me that I need to do good with the little and he will grant me with more. Now I’m not saying Domestic missions is little I think they are one of the most impactful and needed ministries that need to happen and I learned that, later on the more I was doing it. So I kept going with Domestic, kept serving, kept saying yes and doing what God called me. As I came to training camp I was learning more information about the different programs adventures in missions are a part of and one of them was the World Race.

The World Race intrigued my mind, it lit a lightbulb in my brain that I was so drawn to. When I came back from training camp I sat on that thought for 2 months, 2 months of searching and discovering what exactly the Race is and why exactly I wanted to be a part of it. So I called for an interest call and told leadership I wanted to sign up for later in the future and sort of just sit on this thought for more time but I was still so interested. That same call God pulled at my heart and said Now, now is the time I don’t need to wait I don’t need to hold it off, it was now. So I signed up got accepted and had four months to fundraise. Fundraising has been a huge call of faith over my life. I’ve seen God provide by just me saying a simple yes and I’ve seen him provide with me trusting in him. I’m so thankful for what God has called me in and this new journey truly feels like the little girl inside of me is bursting with joy and God looks down with delight.
